AMAZONON RIVER |
|
|
Close to the city of Iquitos we can observe the union of the two biggest rivers : The Ucayali and the Marañón, conforming the
Amazon. This powerful river flows more than 3500 kilometers through the jungle
until it arrives at the Atlantic Ocean where ends
with approximately 20% of all the freshwater
discharge into the oceans. One of the biggest rivers where some of its affluents are more abundant that any other river of the earth. The Amazon is so wide that sometimes it results
in difficulty to observe the the other side. The ideal point to explore this imponent natural power is Iquitos.
From the
city there are many ways to explore the river and the
jungle. You can navigate
over the river through the typical lodges enclaved in the Jungle or visit the Indian towns like : The Yaguas and Boras that conserve proudly its native customs. You can also
discover the fascinating affluents and the Amazon islands or
go fishing. The best way to know the Natural and Virgin Jungle is to travel
at least two days up-river to the Natural Reserve Pacaya - Samiria, where the fauna is abundant in the water, by the borders, on the trees and in the
sky..
